I'm baaaaaack!!

Wow, ages ago since I posted here!

Been busy with the day to day dealings of life and whatnots for the last five years. 
Big and small changes had occur. And in general, I can't complain. LIFE is GOOD. 
Life really is a box of chocolate, you'll never know what you're gonna get, as I am taking on a new adventure in life in 2015! 

Yes, it sounded as a cliché (New Year, new beginning) but coincidentally, I am taking on a different route in life. I never like numbers but I love art, except when I was doing small business on the side in First grade selling my scented stationery paper and custom-made paper fans (made out of a lined-pad-paper) to my classmates--there I'm into numbers! Looking back from what I've done, I didn't know I was actually an entrepreneur at that time. Honestly, right now from where I stand, I am proud of my first-grader self!

I love arts! I have been a creative person ever since my dad handed me the glue and scissors when I was mere 5 years old. I guess I took that creative side form him, and trained hard in my world of oyster with my then innocent fellow Kindergarteners. I never seek validation from my peers, but how could I not, especially when I was awarded the gold medal for 'Best in Arts' in my class. Kindergarten days were the best!

I want to give you guys some update on the new blog I've been working on at 
Mademoiselle Vanilla  where I blog about anything sweet and of course has vanilla in it. I have been designing cakes in recent years and this is where my adventure taking me-- the world of confectionary.


So, please bear with me, guys and gals, while I navigate the magical waters of edible arts!

Boarded on a 20-seater Dornier aircraft on a 3500 altitude for 75 minutes made my mom say: “Never board on a small aircraft again”. Though the flight from Manila to EL Nido airport went well, the sound of the airport made my brain lights up as it’s going to be a huge one. I was wrong. Hanlan's Point Nudist Beach Canada

Who would have thought that someone like me would go to such place? Funny, but my friend and I did, on one hot sunny day of 2008, everything went well according to plan. Toronto Island, where a complainer wouldn’t pass the b risk walkers’ standards to walk along the loooooong trail in a hot and sweaty summer day! So, renting a bike for $7 an hour was the only option as I categorized my friend as one bitchy complainer. We had lunch on one of the several empty park benches in a picnic area, hoping there would be no caterpillars accidentally dangling and clinging to its dear life from the big shadowy tree aside.  ~Toronto Island~ X-mark the spot. Bon Echo Provincial Park

We had an early start to our day on the way to Bon Echo Provincial Park,  so we captured this beautiful burst of sunshine- one of the perks of driving early aside from less traffic!  We rented a canoe to see the majestic hundred meter cliff,  Mazinaw Rock (Algonquin word for “writing”) with wonderful pictographs that dated hundred years ago by Indigenous people.  To rent a canoe during peak season, you have to line up early, as there are a lot of people waiting to rent one.  We came at 7:40AM and there were more than 20 people already in line. Canoe/ kayak is the only way to see the Mazinaw Rock up close.  The paddle is about 10-15 minutes, and water’s super calm when there are no boats crossing between the lower and upper Mazinaw lake.  One part of the huge rock formations, is a rock-climbers mecca, only registered climbers are allowed to climb the rock.  There were 5 walk-in campsites by the water, facing the Mazinaw Rock, and would be wonderful to be camping-in on one of those sites
