Winter WonderCrown Land Hike
Had a wonderful opportunity to hike one of the trails that is situated near Georgian Bay. This is a huge chunk of crown land (a term called ‘public land’ in the US) that I wanted to explore, so I brought along my newly purchased hot tent and wood stove to try. But I am not familiar with this area, so was not sure where the designated campsites were, so just took a hike instead. The trail marked as 1.9km but I think it’s way more than that. It was challenging as there were many uphill and down hill terrain along the way. Most people we have seen are equipped with snow shoes. I guess it kinda looked cool wearing those, but I was totally fine with my waterproof, regular winter boots. It was -18C/4F when we started the hike, and boy it was freezing!
