Cheltenham Badlands Canada

In 2014, I was thinking where to go for a short visit in the summer without really getting away far from the city of Toronto.  But, was really in a debate whether a natural wonder can be seen around the city. Heck, not of a lot if there really is one hanging around. The first sight-seeing trip I can think of is always Niagara Falls, I'm sure a lot of people do but, when you've been living in Toronto for quite some time, and choose the 'stay-cation' mode, it is the only place you run into easily. We took a pass of Niagara Falls.

With the help of social media, every information nowadays becomes so handy in a swipe. So, I came across the Cheltenham Badlands of Caledonia, Ontario. About 40 minutes away, north of Toronto. This small formation of red rocks was once a river that dried up thousands of years ago. This one's just a baby trail compared to Red Rock Canyon, Alberta, and of course the Grand Canyon, Nevada. I'm quite glad knowing that we didn't need to veer off the freeways around the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) just to see and experience the red rocks of North America in a flash.

When we came, there were already people hanging around with this red beauty, never wanting to miss the steps on the red soil.

It was quite an experience seeing the Badlands, knowing that you don't need to fly way over west just to experience this out of this world red rocks!

Cool experience :)
